PUREZENTO

Renjis-renjis dipilis,

Ditepungilah tawar

Hai, beras kunyit ditabur

Disiram si air mawar

(taken from kak shidah’s page)

Next week will mark the beginning of a new life together for my friends and a whole lot other couples as well.
Yes, my fellow bloggers. The season of the wedding. Ahhh…the season where the couple will be wedded and the singles will be shielding all the tormenting question and that look from pakcik, makcik and everybody.
Ohh..please, don’t say to me you haven’t been asked that kind of questions.

Hujung minggu ni baru majlis kat tempat dia.
Once I gave a toaster to my friend for her wedding and guess what?
Mine is one of the three toasters that she received.

I’m much more of a practical person, i.e. I would like to help my friend build their life with the present that I gave them, hence the toaster. Tapi apparently, bukan saya sorang saja yang berfikiran sedemikian.

Apa nak bagi ‘ek?
Cawan dan gelas memang out of question. Mesti dah ramai yang bagi.
Barang2 dapur mesti dah banyak yang diorang dapat.
Foto album? Hmm….that’s a popular gift too.
As I said, something practical, something that would remind them of me straightaway.

Of course, the tought that count most, but I would really like to be the most thoughtful of them all hehehehe :)

And no, saya tak nak bagi duit. Too easy.

Ada cadangan tak?
Something symbolic to their marriage, their faith to each other and to the man,
the willingness to be ‘chained’ hehehe.

migi to hidari, kiri dan kanan

At office.

Me: ni nak pegi kenduri kawin rumah Zol camne?

My asst : nak ikut jalan mana?

Me : ingat nak ikut jalan sungai buluh. Boleh kan?

My asst. : boleh gak, terus jek pastuh sampai kat T-junction err….take your right.

Me : (suspicion mode turn-on) kanan? Betul ke kanan?

My asst. : Betul, just take the road on your right, and in no time you’ll be there.

Me: Kanan dan bukan kiri?

My asst. : Kanan, bukan kiri.

Me : hmm..okay. ( I just can’t shake off that feeling of something will go wrong)

On my bike

Me: okay this is the T-junction, so on my right then.

After a while.

Me: ( apsal aku kat kawasan kilang nih?) Eh? Ni jalan nak gi port pasir gudang!

Eiii…I should have taken the left road tadi.Hampeh betul la minah tuh....
something wrong with her sense of direction?

Nasib baik puding tempat Zol tuh sedap. I've always love pudding hehe :D
Merah menyala baju pengantin,
putih berseri sanding pelamin,
Hopefully their love, passion and devotion to each other will always burn for years to come,
and may their pure love leads the way.

things you can't choose

My former japanese boss said this to me once,

'There are things you can't choose in this world.
Such as you can't choose who you'll parent be,
and you can't choose your boss'

hmmm...
how apt.

Study Group

We the part-timers have set up amongst ourselves a study group. Basically we meet up and try to solve some advance math question. As we don't really have time for study, this is the most effective way. But what really happens is just the normal stuff. You know? Copy sana tiru sini hehehe

No lah, we discuss those question we can’t really solve and crack our head open in order to do that. Now, for your guys’ information, this study group basically consist of 5 people. Two Indonesian and the rest is Malaysian. Only one is part-timer and he is an Indonesian. The other Indonesian is an engineer working at Pasir Gudang, quite near to where I’m working at the moment. The other two work quite near to the university, but I digress…

Anyway, during the ‘discussion’ there’ll be some clash of language. Excerpt as per below:

Indo guy 1: yang ini bagaimana deh?

Me: oh, yang ini kena differentiate dulu, kembangkan and then lepas tuh buat partial fraction. Lepas tuh kita batalkan mana2 yang sama atas dengan bawah lepas tuh baru ikut Cauchy integral theorem.

Indo guy 1: ohh…gitu yah? Kita differentiate, jabarkan dulu, partial fraction emmmm…udah begitu kita coretkan yang mana sama gitu?

Me: (in a dumbfounded manner) err..ha’ah err..coretkan yang di atas dan di bawah…

Emm…frankly speaking the conversation would have been quite difficult for me due to different ‘term’, had I not always watch Indonesian tv. Dulu selalu sangat tengok ‘sinetron’ ( drama ) tv so I can guess what he was trying to say.

Btw, do you know that in Indonesian language, the usage of aku dan kamu is only used between lovers, antara cowok dan cewek? Kalau BM, perkataan aku dan kamu itu just the normal engkau, gua, lu etc. but in B Ind, apparently it’s the other way round.

So kalau gi Indonesia jangan cuba2 guna aku dan kamu. Selamat sikit.

There are other stuffs that we got to know too. Contohnya kalau orang2 Padang dan Sumatra tuh hantaran kahwinnya ikut education level anak gadis. Lagi tinggi anak dia belajar, lagi laaa tinggi hantarannya hehehehe.kat Malaysia ni macam orang Kedah, so I heard…
Good thing I prefer johorian ;)

Sesaja, just so

Basically speaking, i don't really read sajak stuff.
For me, you got to have the right 'jiwa' to really appreciate the sajak.
I'd prefer pantun, cerpen, sketsa etc.

Below is one of those sajak.
I got it from Yam's blog.
Somebody sent her that sajak by sms,
and it seems that yam was quite, no, very delighted with
that somebody's effort.

Kekasih

Akan kupintal buih-buih

menjadi tali mengikatmu

akan kuanyam gelombang-gelombang
menjadi hamparan ranjang tidurmu

akan kutenun awan gemawan

menjadi selendang menudungi rambutmu

akan kujahit bayu gunung

menjadi baju pakaian malammu

akan kupetik bintang timur

menjadi kerongsang menyinari dadamu

akan kujolok bulan tembaga

menjadi lampu menyuluhi rindu

akan kurebahkan mentari

menjadi laut malammu menghirup sakar madumu

kekasih

Sasterawan Negara Allahyarham Usman Awang

I wonder la kan...
if i were to sent this,
would it have the same effect?

hehehehe
