Q: so tell me about yourself
A: my name is ****. I am the eldest daughter in a family of 5 siblings. I am schooled at Sek. Rendah ****. After that, I go to Sek. Men. ****. After my SPM, I joined *** where I studied *****. I did my industrial training at *****.bla bla bla
I have a cat name buyung and I love her very much.
Q: (dlm hati, hah? tu jek?you are not ASWERING MY QUESTION!)
I know the answer given by the candidate was gramatically wrong. I just wrote as per what I heard. But the main point is she did not answer my question.
Apa kejadahnya ko cakap pasal kucing nko! apa kena mengena kucing nko dengan kerja yang ko nak buat. Oh mai god. please le...

bila saya tanya 'tell me about yourself' what I want to hear from you is your charachteristics that will make you the perfect candicate for the post. Positive aspect of yourself, and if there is negative ones, how would you overcome that in order to be a better person and better staff.
So kalau cerita saya ni anak sulung dari 5 adik beradik, don't just stop at there, tell the interviewer that by being the eldest means you are no stranger to responsibility and you are able to lead people. Tell them more about being independent type of person by telling them what you did when you were in high school or in Uni.
Jangan pulak cerita saya ada kucing parsi bulu merah jambu. Of course that would be interesting stuff la kan, pink tuh! Tapi mana ada kena mengena dengan kerja yang nak dibuat?

For the record, cerita pasal kucing tu memang saya buat2 je hehehe just to spice up thing.
Tapi still, they don't really answer my question.
Banyak tip2 nak menghadiri interview, kat internet ni melambak. So be prepared.
oh yes, another thing. Be keen, attentive, semangat during the interview, jangan buat tak semangat. That would be a no no thing to do.

Teringat masa interview dulu, the interviewer (my x-boss) buat sessi interview tu macam nak gaduh pun ada. Sounds macam perlekeh² kan org pompuan and what i did was smash-smash-smash segala bola tanggong ker..bola leret ker yg dia bagi. Mmg pikir takde harapan la nak dapat keje tu, last² dapat plak. Rupanya dia nak ngk boleh ker kita jawap dalam stress. Ada ka patut!

well,employer's common sense sometimes a bit skewed hehe.
come to think of it,each and every employer looks for different aspect.so the best thing to do is to be prepared, and be the best you can.

i think the most important thing other than be prepared is be cool.jangan gelabah tak tentu arah.kena tarik nafas panjang2 kalu nak jawab.dari jawab tak tentu arah, baik amik masa dan jawab betul2.
ahaha... mungkin dia rasa itu yg penting ttg diri dia.Mungkin kita tak tau kusing parsi tu adalah segala-galanya bg dia and will effect kerja dia. We neva know.. kan?

1) if dia jawab as per u wrote, maknanya dia mmg kurus bendul..x dpt tangkap maksud tersirat question tu unless u ty 'can u give me some justifications why i need to hire u'
2) if dia jawab seperti mana yg u nk, mungkin dia nih mmg terer bercakap..mmg terer jual minyak..hati2 haha..
tp kan, dari apa yg aku lihat mostly manager mmg suka amik org yg pandai bercakap compared to org yg kurang sket skill berckp dia. tp harus di igt, org yg hy pandai pandai bercakap x semestinya pandai buat kije..tp pandai amik kesempatan atas org lain.
dr itu, we need to judge ppl from every single aspect. jgn sbb satu perkara kita da buat kesimpulan..

well, you have a point there.but if you see it from my point of view then you will understand.At most, we can only spend 1 hour or even less than that to get to know our future staff for i don't know at least 2 or 3 years.If he/she doesn't really express him/herself,then how do you suppose i'm goint to know which is good or bad?
tapi tu lah, i tak tengok kat cara cakap je.benda2 lain tgk gak.macam my own gut feeling.chemistry org kata tuh hehehe.
other interview have their own criteria,tapi utk saya chemistry dan confidence.
One thing remains solid.you got to be prepared.
side note:my assistant skang nih masa i'view memang first impression tak bagus.apa taknya,pakai cincin kat ibu jari.She's a punk for god sake!
tapi i still vote for her coz she have that x factor.at the end,saya gak yang untung.she can really work.
